<h1>Matanot La’Evyonim – Bringing Purim Joy to Those in Need</h1> One of the central mitzvot of Purim is&nbsp;Matanot La’Evyonim&nbsp; giving gifts to the poor. On Purim day, every Jew is obligated to give financial assistance to at least two individuals in need. This mitzvah is not merely an act of charity; it ensures that everyone can celebrate Purim with dignity, joy, and abundance. Purim joy is incomplete unless it is shared. We read the Megillah, enjoy a festive meal, and send food gifts to friends but we must also remember those who lack the means to celebrate. The goal is simple and powerful: no one should be left out of Purim. By giving Matanot La’Evyonim, we transform our personal joy into communal joy. We become agents of Divine kindness, bringing light and relief to families who truly need support. <h2>When Is It Given?</h2> Matanot La’Evyonim must be distributed on Purim day itself. That is why it is important to entrust your donation to a reliable organization committed to delivering the funds to recipients on the day of the holiday. <h2>Why Is It So Important?</h2> Our Sages teach that the greatest Purim joy is the joy we create for others. There is no greater celebration than opening our hearts and hands to those in need. Giving on Purim reminds us that redemption and light belong to every member of our community.
